The mark

The mark: a Pacific wave breaking over a coral reef. The wave is the surface; the coral is the reef below. Single composition — the wave is on the reef, the way a bommie actually works.

Icon sizes

The mark ships at every size favicons, app icons, and hero placements need. Smaller sizes are still legible because the wave is one continuous mass and the coral is a thick branching shape — no fine details to lose at 16px.

Monochrome

Two clean variants. Each drops the Pacific tile so the mark can sit on any solid background (brand colour, dark UI, photo). Use these when the full mark would clash or the context already has enough blue.

Backgrounds

The mark works on both light and dark surfaces — the transparent corners let the host background show through. No separate dark-mode variant needed.

Themes

The brand ships with two themes. The brand colours (brand, muted, accent, sunset) are identical in both — they're the identity. The surface colours (bg, surface, fg, borders) shift to stay comfortable to read in each mode.

Light — pale cyan-tinted off-white (#F0F7FA) on deep navy (#0A2540). Soft, paper-like.
Dark — deep navy (#0B1B2D) on off-white (#D8E2EC). Not pure black, not pure white — easier on the eyes at night.

Etymology

A bommie is a submerged offshore reef that creates breaking waves — Australian surf-and-dive slang, from the Aboriginal word bombora.

The name carries the metaphor: an offshore landmark, hidden under the surface, that divers and surfers both chase. The app is the same — your dive history, hidden in your pocket, only revealed when you look.
